Summary: Stampy Party

Key dates:

By the late 19th century some of the old Irish traditions were beginning to die out. This photograph taken around 1907 in Co. Limerick shows a group of people at a stampy party at which they could eat, drink and dance. These parties took place at the end of the potato harvest.
