Summary: Clothes of active workers and archers

Key dates:

Archers wore unrestricting thigh length gowns as did some farm labourers and some soldiers. Their legs were exposed and their hose had to be joined at the front and this was carried over the hips and the codpiece was added. This allowed ease of movement. Another style which was developed with physical movement in mind was the fitted bodice and full, short skirt.
