Summary: Exports and Markets

Key dates:

Exports flourished in the 18th century with linen and provisions being exported to the West Indies and North America. Fairs and markets became more common throughout the country. A sign of this prosperity can be seen in the building of a Customs House in Cork in 1724 and of a Corn Market there in 1740.
