Summary: Henry Cooke’s Statue

Key dates:

In 1876 the statue of Henry Cooke was unveiled in Belfast. Cooke’s sculptor was Samuel Ferres Lynn and he had learned his craft in London. Known locally as the Black Man, Cooke’s statue has become one of the best known landmarks in Belfast.
