Summary: Inspection Car

Key dates:

Each railway company had special engines which they used to inspect the track. This inspection car was built in 1906 in Birmingham at a cost of £237.00 and was used by the Co Donegal Railway Company. It was famous as it was the first internal combustion engined rail vehicles to operate in Ireland and one of the first in the world.
