Key dates:

William Miller lived in Lurgan and painted a number of important local events. This is his watercolour record of George Whitefield preaching in the timber yard at Lurgan, 12 July 1751. Whitefield, a leader of the great Methodist Revival, was the pioneer of open air preaching in Ulster.
